Johannah Robinette

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, MAEdS, LCMHC, NCC

Meet Johannah

MA/Ed.S, LCMHC, NCC

As a native of Iredell County, it is my privilege to offer counseling to individuals and families who live here and in surrounding areas.  My past training and experience has included working with adults of all ages, as well as children and teens.  I particularly enjoyed working with teens in an alternative school setting.  I have also been provided the opportunity to counsel individuals who are struggling with domestic violence issues, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, low self-esteem, and intellectual/developmental disabilities (ID/DD).  Throughout this journey in answering the call to become a counselor, I have come to align with the theoretical perspective that treatment meant to ease emotional, mental, or physical discomfort is not fully effective until we acknowledge the spiritual aspect of our difficulty, which leads me to integrate Faith-based therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Nature-Based Therapy. I truly enjoy helping others reach their full potential by gaining courage and confidence while learning ways to overcome the obstacles life can bring.

Meet Angela

LCSW

Do you often find it difficult to make decisions or resolve issues that weigh you down? Do you feel stuck in a cycle of anxiety, struggling to cope with grief, or perhaps stressed out by relationships? I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to helping people learn how to find the pathways that lead to healthier relationships and build effective strategies to overcome struggles. My experience has been working with adults of all ages, children and teens. I have worked in various settings providing counseling for anxiety, grief, self-esteem, parenting and relationship issues. I believe that counseling should provide a safe and welcoming space where collaboration leads clients to identify and reach their goals. I work from a systemic, strengths-based approach that includes cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and solutions-focused perspectives. In my spare time, I love hiking, running, reading, and traveling with my family.

Why  the Garden ?

The Therapeutic Aspect of Garden Counseling.

Nature heals, soothes, and restores.

Nature helps us cope with pain. Because we are genetically programmed to find trees, plants, water, and other nature elements engrossing, we are absorbed by nature scenes and distracted from our pain and discomfort.

Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature has been proven to reduce anger, fear, and stress and also increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical well-being by reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones. According to some scientists, it may even reduce mortality.
