Johannah Robinette

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, MAEdS, LCMHC, NCC

Meet Johannah

As a native of Iredell County, it is my privilege to offer counseling to individuals and families who live here and in surrounding areas.  My past training and experience has included working with adults of all ages, as well as children and teens.  I particularly enjoyed working with teens in an alternative school setting.  I have also been provided the opportunity to counsel individuals who are struggling with domestic violence issues, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, low self-esteem, and intellectual/developmental disabilities (ID/DD).  Throughout this journey in answering the call to become a counselor, I have come to align with the theoretical perspective that treatment meant to ease emotional, mental, or physical discomfort is not fully effective until we acknowledge the spiritual aspect of our difficulty, which leads me to integrate Faith-based therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Nature-Based Therapy. I truly enjoy helping others reach their full potential by gaining courage and confidence while learning ways to overcome the obstacles life can bring.

Meet Nichole

My name is Nichole Lentz. I am a Statesville native- lived in the northern Iredell area
my entire life. I love to be able to call myself a North Iredell Girl! I love my
community, my town, and helping others. I have been in the counseling field for 6
years as a school counselor. I recently received my mental health license as well
and I am very excited to start my new journey helping others in individual therapy. I
have experience in helping children, teens, and their families with the many
struggles they face such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. My
counseling approach includes Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Solution-focused
therapy along with Gestalt therapy practices as well.

Why  the Garden ?

The Therapeutic Aspect of Garden Counseling.

Nature heals, soothes, and restores.

Nature helps us cope with pain. Because we are genetically programmed to find trees, plants, water, and other nature elements engrossing, we are absorbed by nature scenes and distracted from our pain and discomfort.

Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature has been proven to reduce anger, fear, and stress and also increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical well-being by reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones. According to some scientists, it may even reduce mortality.

Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems.
